Archicad 28.2 Update issues

We want to bring to your attention issues that have been reported to Support, so that this thread is aware of the update issue that has occurred.

1. I was working away in AC 28.1 when we received a notice about opening a file stating that an update to 28.2 was available. We ran the update, but first ensured that all other instances of AC28 were closed or quit. The update ran, and during the update, we encountered an error message stating that the AC28 was not dated correctly and needed to be moved to the trash. We finally accepted this action within the prompt, and the installation completed. This is where the issue became apparent: the AC 28 folder now contained no AC 28 Application file to open. We looked far and wide, and it was not installed. We attempted to restore the AC 28 file from the trash, but received an error message stating that the file was corrupt. We then went to the Graphisoft website to download the AC 28 installer for our Mac, but initially received a message saying that the service was not available. We restarted our computer, and then the service was available. We ran the install, and everything went well enough with the installation repair. At this point, we reran the updater, and it completed the update. All seemed good.
2. Second issue: After the update, we opened a small module template file we were working on and discovered that many of the windows and doors were now missing, even though the libraries were loaded. These objects all had the same names as those in the libraries loaded, but we had to edit each object to make them non-missing. Fortunately, this was on a file with a relatively small number of windows and doors. However, if this were to occur on a file with numerous windows and doors, the time to fix and the potential errors upon fixing could be catastrophic.

This is the first time we have encountered issues like this with an update, and we wonder if it is related to the new update process built into the startup dialog.

Update: We now have files with numerous objects missing, 250+, all with varying sizes and attributes. The time to repair is time that is not available. I'm not sure what changed with the library objects, as not all of them were affected. This will prevent future update consideration.

Hi @stan-rostas thanks for the heads-up on the issue with AC28.2 update. I also saw the download page reported "Server unavailable".
Are you on Apple / Windows and which local version of AC are you using... INT, USA, AUS, etc?

We are on Apple Silicon (latest MacBook Pro) and using the AC USA with the separate libraries. We only have one wrinkle from the standard, in that we added the windows and doors to the international library. The issue is with these two libraries.

I am wondering if you had previously installed the Global Library 2 update?

So, your worked on files will now have new updated objects (in particular the windows).

Then you had trouble installing the Archicad update and ended up re-installing Archicad.

This will only have library update 1 (the original library).

Then you have updated Archicad, but that will not update Archicad will not update the libraries as well.

I think all you may need to do is to re-install the lates Library update as well.
