3D textures and settings disappear when the 3D window is closed and then reopened again. (ex. look at something in 3D. Drop back out to floor plan. Jump back into 3D and boom a majority of surfaces have disappeared)
While it can be reset temporarily by swapping between internal engine and Open GL it also causes intermittent crashes. I've dried a completely clean install of AC 18 and I still get the issue regardless of file (I've tried blank templates, current projects, even those done by others).
Can anyone else confirm? I can test on our other office machines but I'm reluctant to upgrade those if they're going to have the same issue.
Update -
I've been able to track the behavior to the closure of the 3D window. Leaving the 3D window open in the background seems to work as a workaround for now.

Thanks for pointing us to this issue.
The likelihood of the problem being fixed in AC18 is not very high, since it seems like the issue is only present in ARCHICAD 18, ARCHICAD 19 is not affected. The best known workaround yet, is what you suggested (Changing to Internal Engine and Back).

With the updates to AC18 now, it generally seems to work, but there is one thing that we are finding frustrating.
The tracker and coordinate input box does not pop up when we start moving items.
We also can not use the tab selection option to select different items in the same place as the tracker does not show up to tell us what we are possibly selecting.
Works OK in version 19 but not 18 which all of our projects are on.

We have to resort to selecting in plan and globally removing.
