I have an M3 Max Macbook, and the info suggest that my file is Intel based file.
I downloaded the Apple Silicon variant Archicad 27, and the application info shows that as well. After updating to version 5003 the file preview shows that it is Intel based. Is it just a bug? I tried to download the update and Archicad says it is already updated.

I think it is just one of those things where the Quick Preview interface hasn't been updated or it could be because the file was originally created in the intel version.

I have just looked at various files I have created from our template (which was originally created in Archicad 18) and other new files and they all say Macintosh Intel. It could be similar to the new update and hot fix increments which don't show up in the quick preview information correctly.

Let's hope this is all fixed when v28 is released in November I think.

Hi There,

I was wondering how your M3 Max Macbook is going? I am looking at this currently and wondered if you had any issues. I work on large and sometimes complex projects but also recently have been importing Point Cloud files which current M1 max desktop can struggle with at times.

Hi!

If there are problems that is not the Macbook's fault in my opinion rather Archicad. But for me there is only one thing, when I switch from a floorplan to a section in the windows tab, sometimes it just stops there. It switches but doesn't refresh. But as for the performance it is really great. The fans don't turn on even with 4-5 projects open. From the 48 GB RAM Archicad uses like 5-10 GBs so I can work on different applications as well. The real difference is the graphical performance compare to the M1 Max chip. So if you use Twinmotion for example, you can feel the difference definitely. But CPU-wise I think there is only 30% difference.

PS: I would maybe wait for the M4 Max chip if I were you, but if you need the graphical performance and change now you won't be disappointed in my opinion.

Regards.

Thanks.
