Hi. I am sorry for the long an perhaps unorganized text.
My macbook pro is around 5 years old. Screenshot of specs are added below.
I have used this for ArchiCad ever since I purchased it and I´ve never had major issues with the hardware, other than it gets hot and fan goes a lot when rendering or working on heavier files. Currently I am working on the interior of an apartment. There are currently no imported files, only objects I have made myself and saved as objects in Library. Some of them that are made previously I´ve imported from my own files. I have however created a good amount of surfaces, if this is relevant to my upcoming question.
At one point during my project I tried importing a file downloaded from BIMobjects. If I remember correctly, I struggled to add the .dwg version (that I think, a long time ago usually used to do). I think that I managed to import the .obj file into my project, but the size of this file is significantly larger than the .dwg file. Short time after vieving the project in 3D the screen freezes and later crashes. After many tries Archicad lasts long enough for me to be able to delete the .obj file that I assumes created the issue that caused the screen to freeze and the program to crash. Another note is that the screen during this process often turned green, then red.
Ever since this happened (and it might be coincidence) this keeps happening. Screenshots of the screen when it happens are added below. Is there an obvious reason for this such as the MacBook not being able to handle the file or something? I have just now downloaded and about to update ArchiCad in case this helps, but I am so grateful for any ideas I can try to lessen the amount of times for this to happen as It causes so much wasted time and worry because often the file is not possible to open after many tries after shutting the program off until suddenly it randomly does. My file have broke a couple times, but luckily was repaired when relaunching the program.
(If anyone also has some suggestions to how I can import and use downloaded files in the best way not to cause the program to crash, that would be much appreciated as well- primarily I am in need of plants, but this is not the prioritised issue.)
