IMPORTANT! - MacOS X 10.11 El Capitan - Do NOT update yet

Last week Apple has released the first public beta of Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan.

Based on last year's experience Graphisoft expect a huge number of users wanting to migrate to it right away, which they currently strongly advise against. As of now, their basic recommendation is:

Until further notice please don’t update to Mac OS X 10.11.

The article will be updated as further info is gathered.

I have not been updating regularly. In fact I only have the version from when I upgraded last winter, 4040. When I try to install the current version, 7002, the installer can't find the active version of AC, even when I confirm the path and the spelling. (I was about to inquire about this when I found your reply.)

This is similar to the problem AC has finding the local libraries. Which I had to break link and reconnect, rather than re-path.
Now this may be more related to my installation of El Capitan. I had a kernel panic, until I disconnected all peripherals. And then had a USB power drain message until I disconnected a USB 3.0 board I recently purchased... the seller admits is incompatible with El Capitan.
I'm going slow (read carefully) on resolving the installation was flawed.

Another minor problem you might be able to help me as moderator... My log-in to ArchiCAD-Talk has outdated information, particularly an email which is several years old... lost when I changed carriers. I obviously don't use A-Talk very often and have lost the password so I can't change it, but I log-in automatically.

Thanks for any assistance.

It's awkward, but I believe you have to contact the forum administrator at gsforumadmin@graphisoft.hu to change your email and reset your password.

It is wise to always update regularly, as each update fixes a significant number of bugs - and tech support will likely not help you on an old build such as 4040, instead asking you first to update to the current release.

Not sure why 7007 won't install for you. You can make a free call to US tech support for workaround advice - but if it cannot find or recognize your current installation of 18, you might have to re-install. Hopefully the installation will work with El Capitan.
