What is the exact error message you're getting? By the sound of what you're saying it sounds like Java Virtual Machine isn't installed on your computer, try getting that from http://www.sun.com , installing it, and then retrying the ArchiCAD installation.

Remove any Java that you already might have on your machine and start again.

I am also having a Java related error when attempting to install. I get this message:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:runException in thread "Main"

I have removed Java and reinstalled it. I don't get this problem with other computers, only this one. Help.

Check

http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/system_requirements/

Your computer is not strong enough for Archicad.

Also, do the Windows update.
