Launch new AC with Open Recent broken?

Just updated AC17 (6004)... My work environment still shows the checkbox checked for LAUNCH NEW AC ON OPEN RECENT...

Yet with a file open and going to my open recent menu and choosing a file, it asks me to save what I'm working on and closes...

Worked fine last week...

Maybe just MAC?

I tried unchecking and opening... still tries to close...

Tried checking it back... still tries to close...

Using the OPEN.... command and navigating to the file and checking the box to LAUNCH NEW.. works..

Duane,

we've tested this on Mac and there is no sign of general error. Try to re-apply your work environment, hopefully that will help to fix this issue.

Although I never found the culprit... A computer restart seemed to get me back working...

It is good to hear that. There might have been some sort of temporary permission problems and as a result AC could not write its preference files.

I believe I have found the unique circumstance that causes my error...

If you are in a file and SAVE AS a new version, for example, then use the RECENT FILES to open up the original version... it will not respect the instruction to launch a new archicad (per work environment settings)...

If someone is willing, please see if you can duplicate...

* make sure work environment is set to LAUNCH NEW ARCHICAD when choosing from RECENT files (sorry, don't know the exact wording)
1. Open file
2. Save as Filename v2
3. With Filename v2 live, chose the original file from the RECENT menu...

Let me know if it asked you save and it closed Filename v2...

Tried as you described.
A new instance of AC opens, no prompt to save.... both files are open.
