I am using HP DesignJet 510 and printing at 36 x 24. I measure the dimensions on the layout sheet in ArchiCAD and all is fine. When I print the scale is slightly smaller. A line that should be 6" is printing at 5 11/16". I have margins set to zero, Source is Entire Layout, Fit to Page 100% and am using Layout Margin.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Can you show a screenshot of your Print dialog? Are there any red lines in the preview image?
I'm not all that familiar with your printer, but is it possible your printer has a manual override in it that affects the scaling? Some issues like this are fixed via the actual printer's onboard display, rather than in ArchiCAD.
The red lines in the preview mean your layout margins are too big (small?) for your printer.
Best way to set it up is to make ArchiCAD retrieve the margin settings from your printer.
Go to your master settings, and under the Size drop down, select 'Import Settings from Printer'. Choose the corresponding size from there and it will enter the correct margin settings into the master for you. This adjusts the blue line bordering your master layout, so if you have titleblock information (including thick lines that bleed over, so make sure true line wight is on to check), you will need to make sure those are inside them.
This should get rid of the red lines and as long as there is no override on your printer itself, all should be to scale.
Once it's all set up, create a Print Publishing set to make the process more efficient.
I did everything you said to do, there are no redlines but it is still not printing at the correct scale. The printer is the same as I've always used. This problem only started happening recently after I loaded ArchiCAD 17 and Mavericks. I appreciate your help but I am still having a problem.
No. Printer Margin & Layout Margin makes no difference. I'm only getting 95% of the size it should be. I'm thinking of setting the layout sheets at 105% so I can print scaleable drawings even though construction drawings always say "do not scale drawings". I'll try some more work arounds today & see if I can solve this. Thanks all for the advice.
