Mesh- terrain

I feel as I've got alzheimer since I started with archicad 10. A lot of things are missing, among them the "magic wand". How can I activate the mesh I'm trying to make. It looks flat. My solution to maybe get there will be to open archicad 9 and make it there and open it in 10 when its finished. Have anyone a better idea ?
