I am trying to update my Archicad 27 and I keep getting the following error ' Could not find normally installed Archicad on your computer'. I have both 26 and 27 installed on my desktop. I've tried creating a new folder on my desktop labelled AC27 but still to no avail. It's very frustrating, please help.
Operating system used: Windows 11

Sounds like you have installed the program folder that is not the default.
Browse to where the program has been installed.
If you have done that and it still does not work, are you sure you have the correct language version for the update?

Hi Barry,
Thanks for the reply. I have browsed all options available and it's still not showing up, neither versions 26 or 27 are in the lists available, even though it's clearly downloaded to my desktop. I have previously updated both versions with no issue, today is the first time this has happened. I'm at a loss.

Archicad is usually installed to ... C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\Archicad 27
Rather than your desktop.
You just need to find the folder that the 'Archicad.exe. file is installed to.
It may not be in a list, you might need to manually browse for it.

Could it be the both of you are trying to install an update with a language version that is not the same as your installed version?
i.e. you are trying to install the INT update but you have say the USA version installed?
Barry.

Hey,
my solution was to just delete it entirely and redownload it. Seemed to fix it all after that.

Probably because you would have installed the initial program and the update with a matching language version.
Downloading just the update, it can be easy to get the wrong language version.

@Barry Kelly is correct. If the language versions and / or platforms of your downloaded update is different from your installed Archicad version, you will not be able to install it.
You can look up your installed Archicad language version under Help menu > About Archicad. Please make sure, that your update and installation match regarding language and platform.
About Archicad Updates: https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Getting-started/About-Archicad-Updates/ta-p/304103
If you download the Archicad update in an open Archicad file under Help menu > Check for updates... Archicad will always select the correct language version and platform for you.
Under Update check results all available updates will be listed and can be downloaded directly from this pop-up window.
If you close this window and start to change the language version, version and / or platform the shown update and your installed version might no longer match.
