Object Tool directory missing folders

Hello,
I just discovered that in AC 8.1 when I go to the Object Tool's
settings window and try to find a folder and the objects in that
folder the folder does not appear.
Specifically, object library 81-> 03 concrete 81-> there are only
two folders "Concrete Structures 81" and "Stairmaker Handrails 81"
According to my hard drive directory there should be a folder
named "Stairs 81" containing two sub-folders named
"Stairs Hotspot Editable 81" and" Stair Simple 81".
But they are not present in the Object Tool's directory.

In AC 9.0 exactly the same situation exist.
The hard drive directory shows several sub-folders
inside "03 concrete 9" and sub-folders inside those folders.
But they are not present in AC 9.0's Object Tool's directory.

How do I fix this in both versions ?

Thank you,
Peter Devlin

This is because all objects (since V8.0) now have "subtypes".
This means you will only see the stair objects when you use the stair tool.
Just like you only see window in the window tool and not in the object tool.

Funny, I just discovered this today in looking at another thread about up/down arrows on stairs... In order for you to be able to see the stairs in the 03 section of the library... you need to have the stair tool active.

Thank you both very much for posting back
and for your information and help.
I wonder how long it would have taken me to make the connection
between this set of objects and for instance the skylight "object"
and checked to see if they would show up
in another tool's "browser area".
All the issues involved with subtypes has certainly not been made
completely explicit in the documentation.
Thank you again,
Peter Devlin
