i am not a mac guy (yet).
look over the previously mentioned topic, maybe be more specific with your problems.
most people that have had problems have been instructed to deinstall/reinstall, preferably a 'clean' uninstall.
this is from http://tr.graphisoftus.com/ , faq699

1.) Close ArchiCAD and all other running applications.
2.) (notice: the word "clear" in the next few commands, mean that the user may back up these files to the desktop via a Copy)
a.) Clear AC 8 pref's and cache:

AC8.1 location of preferences:

MAC
<USERNAME>: Library : Preferences : Graphisoft : AC 8.1.0 v1
<USERNAME>: Library : Preferences : Graphisoft : PM 3.1.0 v1

WIN
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Graphisoft\ArchiCAD 8.1.0 USA R1
(and)
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Graphisoft\PlotMaker 3.1.0 USA R1

AC8.1 location of cache:
MAC
<USERNAME>: Library : Caches : Graphisoft : ArchiCAD Cache Folder : AC 8.1.0 v1
<USERNAME>: Library : Caches : Graphisoft : PlotMaker Cache Folder : PM 3.1.0 v1

WIN
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\Graphisoft\ArchiCAD Cache Folder C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\Graphisoft\PlotMaker Cache Folder
b.) Clear the local Cache:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Temp
c.) Clear the Windows cache:
C:\WINDOWS\Temp
3.) Start ArchiCAD and see how it looks.

hope that helps
