Problems with loss of 3D visual data in 'explore' mode

Hi,

I'm quite new to all this but I was wondering if anyone knows how to solve my problem with viewing the model in the 3D window. It worked ok initially (either in Open GL or with the Internal Engine), but now when I try to explore the model in perspective I end up losing visual data when zooming in and moving closer to the corners. I also get the problem when panning around (i.e just turning left and right a little with the mouse).

If I havent explained this properly perhaps you could take a look at these snapshots to see what Im on about:

1.) http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m142/Rikkity/VisualLoss1.jpg
2.) http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m142/Rikkity/VisualLoss2.jpg

It appears that the more data I have the more loss of visual I get also... could this be hardware related, or is there a setting within the 3D options/settings that can help me view the model without any glitches like this?

If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
