License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

!Restored: Tiger problems

But fixable...

Doing an archive install I had to reinstall the willybo key driver.

Opening a file had all text as some typewriter font. The system did not keep the font I was using (Mr.Hand) so I had to reinstall that... and reopen AC.

Wow, thanks for the link Archiben. It also seems to start up a little faster with Tiger!

I don't know why, but the Wibu-key software on Graphisoft's page is ages old!

WIBU key is currently at version 5.0, both Win and Mac.
I've consistently used the latest Wibu version, downloaded from
http://wibu.de/us/down_wibukey.php
and I've had no problems with it.

If there is any real reason to use the old software, please inform us, Graphisoft!

i think the key words on this page are "recommended by graphisoft".

i guess they haven't fully tested archiCAD/wibu with the latest drivers and so can't recommend them until such time . . .

I have been using version 4.10.500 without any problems in 10.4, though I have not tried V5 posted on Wibu's site yet

Well, the WkRt-Mac331a.hqx that you get when downloading from Graphisoft is almost two years old. It's two versions back! Older than Archicad 8.1! I wonder if it's really a good recommendation, now that drivers should be Tiger-aware.

As I said, i'd like to see the reason for recommending this old package. And I'd like to repeat that I've seen no problems whatsoever by keeping current with WIBU's own releases, neither with AC7, 8.1 or 9.
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Teamwork issues reported in this forum has a relation to old Wibu drivers.

So Graphisoft, please enlighten me! (or update your web page)

The "recommended" driver on our site is the one that we ourselves have tested and therefore we are sure it has no issues with ArchiCAD.

4.1 failed on XP SP2 in a network environment, and we have not yet tested 5.0

3.31 was tested on OS.10.4, no problems were found.

I appreciate your answer, gkmethy. Of course it's essential that you test these drivers with your program.

However, the reason WIBU goes on developing their device is not only to include additional features to sell more, it's also to make it compatible with and make use of OS features. While I don't have complete info on Wibu-Key's driver version history, I found this document What is new in version 4.10? that among other things says:
"Now you can run the WIBU-KEY Server on Mac OS X 10.2"
"The current version 4.0 of the Macintosh drivers already supports the new Apple PCs equipped with G5 processors (Mac OS X version 10.2.7 and higher)."

There are of course similar developments on Windows. This suggests to me that at least on such a Mac as the one mentioned, and with MacOSX 10.2 and above, using anything less than version 4.10 could be risky. And as I mentioned, the current version Wibu-key driver is at 5.0 on both platforms. Maybe that solves the XP SP2 issue?

Perhaps, if you find issues on later versions, that info could be provided on your web page. And if so, perhaps you should recommend different versions for different platforms.

When we release a new version of ArchiCAD, we always include on the Install CD the latest WIBU driver that passed our tests. We prefer not to change the recommended driver during the lifetime of the AC version - unless it is inevitable - since there is no point indicating to our users that they should upgrade the WIBU driver, when it does not bring any benefit.

When AC 9 was released, 3.31 was the latest 'good' version. (I think 4.1 was already around, but had problems with XP SP2). Until we find some serious error with it, we keep recommending this version (so that you don't have change what you already get when you install ArchiCAD) With the next version of ArchiCAD, we will, of course, update the recommended driver to the latest version by that time.

To answer Tom's question, we tried (but not tested) 4.1 and 5.0 with OS 10.4, and it worked. I still do not recommend to upgrade, unless you have problems with 3.31.
