Support for Hyperthreading

Does ArchiCAD (specifically 8.1) use hyperthreading when only one copy is running? The reason I ask is that whenever I am performing large operation, task manager shows the cpu usage as exactly 50%. It seems that the second virtual processor is not being used. Am I better off disabling hyperthreading?

I don't believe ArchiCAD is written to use Hyperthreading; even a dual processor machine only uses one for ArchiCAD.

However when hotlinking ArchiCAD views into PlotMaker, PlotMaker opens another session of ArchiCAD to generate those views. This "second" copy of ArchiCAD can use the 'virtual second processor' provided by Hyperthreading.
Alternatively you may have more than one application open....

I.e. I have it switched on on both my P4 box at home and my dual Xeon at work (task manager thinks the latter has four processors - which looks impressive even if it is not quite so in reality!).
