Hi everyone
trying to assist a remote worker with a bit of a weird BIMCloud issue.
Facts as I have it : brand new good spec Windows 11 Laptop (think i7, 64GB RAM etc) good internet connection (100mb fibre connection, low latency) Archicad 28.
So the user complains that the BIMCloud file works slowly, not necessarily the Sending / Receiving, but just working in the file especially Layouts.
Moving Views around they experience significant lag and it will take say a minute to move a single View.
Weirdly, saving the same file out to PLN solves this issue.
We don't experience any of the above in our local office, file + performance works perfectly.
We've gone through the normal solutions as per the GS Support page (clear cache etc) but problem still persists.
We'll try a fresh install of Archicad next but if someone has come across this issue and has any insight I'll appreciate some input.
Cheers!
Andre

Are you using Graphisoft's new Archicad Collaborate with the new cloud-based licenses alongside BIMcloud Basic?
The reason I ask is that returning to BIMcloud Basic is on my list of things to explore. However, we manage a wide range of 100+ projects—from small to very large (single-family residences to amusement parks)—and one concern I have is that Graphisoft’s system requirements seem to suggest it may not handle our project volume.
We are not getting the value out of BIMcloud SaaS.

we were 'forced' into bimcloud SaaS... moved to the cloud license, and we basically had few alternatives short of staying in older versions of AC.
I have noticed since the move from bimcloud basic, files run slower and buggier than before

That is a concern if Graphisoft Support are saying to transition back to the monolith libraries.
If only transitioning was an easy thing to do.
If the library packs are affecting speed, then Graphisoft should be providing a monolithic version of the 28/29 library (not the 27 monolithic library we currently have that is not compatible with 28/29 objects).
I wonder if it would be possible for us to extract the libpacks and and then the LFCs to then organise the objects into one big monolithic library?
Again, not an easy thing to do, and would make future updates tricky.
It would also mean that we would lose the language conversion and value mapping of the libpacks.
Barry.

Barry this is so absolutely spot on!!
The library packs are an absolute failure and as such graphisoft should provide proper 28/29 library packs!
Who and how do we petition to get this? And get it sooner rather than later!

Maybe @Magdolna Marosvari ?
Do have anything you can advise us on here?
Is there anything that can be done to speed up the loading of so many library packs?
Barry.

Hi, yes, I had to test it by installing the basic BIMcloud for AC29, and being on the local network it's incredibly fast, but even over the internet it feels somewhat faster than BIMcloud as a Service... It's frustrating to have migrated "almost with a gun to our heads" only to have these problems.
The thing is, in theory, the complete service with BIMcloud as a Service should be much better.
Another option I'm considering is that they also give us "BIMcloud on-premises," which is the local version but with all the functions, including BIMX server functionality... that would perhaps be an option to try.
