License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Upgrading to AC11

Anonymous
Not applicable
Recently we received AC11 as ordered. Incredibly, I have found very little assistance in determining the ramifications for rolling it out in our office. The availability of updated add-ons and library parts is extremely unclear.

At the CADIMAGE website one can see tools that are available for v11 (although there are more that are unlisted, eg. Stairmaker and Cabinet Builder!- just log-in or email them!).

As for ArkiKlub (available free to Australian GOLD members - i.e. by subscription) add-ons and downloads, many of the tools we were given in AC10 - who knows? I see this is queried by other users too....

You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink.
Having asked but still not heard from Graphisoft about these,I have set up a WIKI page at http://www.archicadwiki.com/ArchiCAD_11/TechNotes called "AC11 Add-ons and Objects" - tracking them. Please add any others you know of..and if you can add any shipping dates/ knowledge of their availability please add that too!

If Graphisoft continue with yearly updates they should be on top of this and communicating to the users.
Given the add-ons and libraries we had in AC10, if we went to AC11 I think we'd probably be going backwards...!

You mean aside from the dozens and dozens of posts about it here?

dude,

all of the cadimage, cigraph and graphisoft add-ons are available for archicad 11 with the exception of graphisoft's grid tool ("coming soon"). you've checked the goodie webpage right?

simple GDL objects (i.e. those not requiring an add-on to enable them) will work in AC11 as they did previously. just load them up as normal.

a bulk of your 'special' archiklub libraries are in fact globally available from either graphisoft or specialist GDL sites for free . . . but again, they can simply be loaded in their previous incarnation anyway.

your problem seems really to be with graphisoft australia's response time in getting their stuff out in time for the AC11 launch. (which frankly doesn't surprise me after some of the customer "service" stories i've heard about them).

i think maybe you should be bitchin' at GS australia not the rest of the world, eh?! and another suggestion: most of your archiklub stuff is freely available from GS or their GDL spin-off sites . . . maybe keeping a track of them (the source) rather than relying on GS australia to update their "special klub" webpages might serve your purpose better?

Sure Tom, but who wants to trawl through numerous posts to find out that something is unavailable!

What I was getting at is that by having a register of add-ons/ library parts (even just GS ones) one can easily track their release (or not!). That way (I) can know , for example, we are going to get a v11 "Australian essentials library". At the moment (I) have no idea whether GS will upgrade our v10 one!

And Ben - have you got updated 'goodies' for 11?

yes - Help>ArchiCAD 11 Goodies

as previously, this takes you to the AC goodies webpage relevant to your localisation and version . . . (which is updated by graphisoft HQ as and when updates become available).

your direct link:
http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/downloads/goodies11/AUS.html

(i guess that's what happens when you rely on GS australia to feed you the stuff themselves.)

so that you think you are getting a "service" from graphisoft australia . . . when in fact the source of most of their stuff lies elsewhere. it also relies on their being on the ball in order to update it.

from what i can gather - having talked to several australian archicad users - GS australia like to treat their customer base like mushrooms: in the dark and fed on sh*t!

not your fault . . .
