License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

ac9 hotfix update not working so hot

archicad 9 crashes without any error message after i do things like saving and 3d navigation. no matter what it crashes in 5 minutes after opening any file. i checked for updates and it isn't up to date but when i try to install the update it says i need to update java or install it from the hotfix CD. I'm not sure what hotfix is but i used the archicad installation CD and installed the java runtime environment from there. i also updated java from the internet. i rebooted and tried to update archicad again and i get the same message.

Hmm. Shouldn't be a problem then...

Note that all software on the 9 installation CD is "ancient" - whether it is java, WIBU or whatever. So, not surprising that you would have to download a java update.

Since you are a US user, go to the US tech support web site:
http://tr.graphisoftus.com/
where you can click on ArchiCAD 9 and download the build 2219 hotfix; the installation guide there might also be helpful.

Will this hotfix install? If not, what message(s) do you get when you run it?

Under Utilities on the same web site, you will find an updated WIBU driver. Try that if necessary.

Review AC 9 articles on the Wiki:
http://www.archicadwiki.com/Archicad_9

Your crash could be related to QuickTime 7?
http://www.archicadwiki.com/Bugs/When_QuickTime_7_is_installed%2C_ArchiCAD_crashes?highlight=%28Bugs...

This other AC 9 crash:
http://www.archicadwiki.com/Bugs/Crashes_with_ArchiCAD_9_%28build_1812%29_INT_on_MAC_when_opening_ol...
was fixed by an earlier hotfix, so will not be an issue once you update your installation to build 2219

And, of course, consider contacting US Tech Support and/or your reseller if this is time and mission critical.

Cheers,
Karl
