exporting to an ifc format

hi i was wondering if any one can help me? i trying to make a ifc file in archicad. is there any way i can translate and make a model in the building from a .pla to a .ifc???

There sure is. What version of ArchiCAD are you using? If it's ArchiCAD 9 a simple Save as then change the file formate from PLN to IFC.

If it's another version of ArchiCAD you will need to download the respective IFC add-on. You can get them here http://www.graphisoft.com/products/ifc/
