scattered text block

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have an annoying problem that occurs when printing from Archicad. Blocks of text in the drawing will break apart and scatter letters across the page. It's a real problem.

Has anyone seen this before and know what might be causing it?

I'm using two different HP printers, a Deskjet 935C and a Designjet 120nr.

Other info:

Archicad 8.1.0 v1
Powermac G4/500
384 MB RAM
Mac OSX 10.3.2

Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen that one but I occasionally get intermitent non-printing of linework. Are you using the GimpPrint driver that shipped with 10.3.2? You might try updating to 10.3.3 (which caused no new problems for me) and then updating GimpPrint from the SourceForge website at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=1537 . Download the 4.2.6 version. Please keep us posted.

I wasn't using GimpPrint. (what is it by the way?). I've had this problem for a while, with Jaguar and Panther versions of OSX.

I don't know if it's a problem with the HP driver, with Archicad or what.

GimpPrint is an Open Source project that provides high quality printer drivers for OS X. Apple began including it in the OS with the release of Panther. If you are printing (rather than plotting) from AC/PM and having trouble with the OEM driver, you should give it a try. Use the Printer Setup Utility. I would, however, update to version 4.2.6 via the link in my previous post. Good luck!
