If you are doing a fully custom, parametric window it's best to keep "A" as the rough opening width and script the details as they should be shown (the wall attributes are available as globals to get the right lines and fills).
Of course for one offs it's usually best to just tweak the symbol.😉

Hi, I know this is old but I am having a weird issue following these steps maybe there is something I'm missing.
I have create a custom door with trim and used slabs to create the Wallhole. Everything is fine in 3d. Now the 2d opening encompasses the entire door and not just the Wallhole so I will try to change the PARAMETER A (width) down to exclude the trim around the door. 3.350 > 2.7
In the 2D symbol window everything looks fine and the Wallhole reduces accurately.
But on the floor plan the actual symbol is scaled up back to the overall size, symbol included.
I hope this makes sense, any advice is much appreciated.
