2D View window in Edit Library Object - tools unavailable

In AC17, 2D tools like hotspots, lines, etc. are unavailable when attempting to edit the 2D View of created library objects. I recall that I was able to easily do this in the past but something is different now. Can someone please advise me how I can now edit within this window. Thanks, Scott

No problem here. You've got the 2D Symbol window open, not the 2D View, right?

Carl whoops, no I had the wrong window open. I can add 2D elements to the 2D Symbol window however they are not showing up after making the edit to the created object and saving.

I have made a simple block for commercial kitchen planning purposes, representing equipment. I used a 1'x1'x1' slab then saved as a library object. The part is easily stretchable and I have added parameters for scheduling purposes which works nicely. From the schedule I can quickly run down the list entering all the sizes, electrical and mechanical requirements. The 3D objects in plan are automatically sized and labeled.

I was hoping to have a fill within the object, but I have not been able to achieve that. When the created object is opened for editing, there are no elements in the 2D Symbol window. I can place fills in that window but they do not appear in any view after saving. Anyway, that is what I would like to achieve. Please let me know if I am totally off track. Thanks, Scott

Scott:

If the Object has anything in the 2D Script, the 2D Symbol Window will be ignored (unless the Fragment2 command is used). So delete or comment out the 2D Script to use the 2D Symbol. You can copy elements from the 2D View to the 2D Symbol to get started.

David, it worked (deleting the 2D script)! Thank you so much! Scott
