3D Detail OFF Option Missing

I keep finding options in the new "libpacks" that used to be part of a library object no longer an option.  In this case, it's for the Light Switch object part called "Switch US".

Pre-AC28, the object settings included an option to switch the 3D detail level to "OFF".  This is no longer an option with the new "libpacks", or I'm missing it.  Why does it seem Graphisoft is going through much effort to remove things?

Does anyone have a solution to this?

I'm getting more annoyed with the libpacks every time I look for an option I've used for years has been removed.  Or is harder to find.

As usual, the reason we don't use all of the options included in an object are graphical.  We feel our drawings are more legible without the exacting detail that the model provides.  And hard copy or soft, all projects are built from drawings.  The models are a wonderful explanation tool, but the most used format for building our projects is still the drawing.

End of rant,
Joel

Does the setting "Show Box in 3D" under "Box" (in your second screenshot) turn the element off in 3D? Looks like they might have just made a separate setting to toggle it on and off.

Nate,

The option to turn off the "Box" is just the junction box.  The switch plate remains "on" in 3D.

In AC27 (and before) the "3D Detail Level" option turned off 3D for both the switch plate and the junction box.  I can't find this option in AC28 Libpack object.

I questioned this missing MVO option with support as 'off' disappeared once we were introduced to Libpacks in 28,

I was given the following answer:

'The missing setting to define an object's level of detail independently of MVO's, is a known limitation of the new library system. Due to several users explaining the disadvantage of this, a solution is currently being worked on, but we cannot confirm exactly when it will be implemented.

The best solution at the moment, is to work with layers and layer combinations depending on the view'.

Great information, Daron.  Thank you.  Not that I'll expect a solution soon, but when were you given this response?
