3NF GDL Scripter is free!

Hello Everyone.

I have decided to remove the license protection from our 3NF GDL Scripter
to allow for easier distribution. You can get it here:

http://www.3nf.net/new/download/GDLScripter-2.06.jar

This version will not need a license file. Problems with spam and spam
filters made our response to your license requests very unreliable. Our
apologies for any inconveniences we may have caused you.

We still have a long TODO/wish list for this product, but being
non-funded, it is at the end of a much longer TODO list. This was the most
that 3NF could give to the community without violating our commercial
obligations at this time. However, I suspect it is not the last free
version that you will see from us 🙂

You may find it interesting to know that 3NF announced this effort in
2000, and our engineers from the U.S., Japan, Hungary, and Russia all
contributed to this product. It was fun, but our team has been consumed
with many other projects since then.

We are still very interested in everyone's feedback, but I cannot promise
any response or support at this time.

I could not get the GDLScripter JAR file to open on my Mac. Is this a Mac compatable program? Thanks.

It's a JAVA-program. JAR means that it's an executable JAVA-program in compressed form. I just double-clicked on my PC (with the Java Runtime installed) and it worked OK, at first sight.

Being a JAVA-program, it should be cross-platform...

So it seems that GDL Scripter does not work (or work well) on Mac OS. Are there other GDL scripting programs that people could recommend for the Mac?

There was an interesting attempt for both platforms.

It was a beta version, AC7 i think, but development is stoped.
No browser needed to display 3D views. Just for info.
I don't know anything else for Mac users.
