Cannot customize doors and windows

When I place doors and windows I can change their size but I cannot customize type, when I go to make changes IE., adding panes, panels, handles etc. The doors and widows will not show any of my desired changes. I go into he appropriate selection settings to attempt to make my changes, I was able to do this previously but now I cannot. I am using Archicad 23 student version.

Edit: I've added an attachment of what my doors/windows look like. I can adjust the type of door and the size but nothing else, windows are the same accept they of course show the glass, I can change the color but I can't do anything else such as add panes.

Can you post a few screenshots that shows the exact situation and settings?

Is it anything to do with the Level Of Detail (LOD) settings either in the Model View Options or in the object settings itself?
