Delay in copy and pasting objects

Does anyone notice a noticeable delay when copying and pasting objects? Even just plain text there is a considerable delay from when hitting ctrl V to when the dialogue box appears. Is this expected or something wrong with my computer?

It is not instant but it only takes about half a second for the paste dialogue to appear for me.
Do you have the latest update installed (your signature shows an old one)?

Yes it is half a second but was hopeful that it would be instant! Particularly as I'm not copying / pasting anything huge
