Door with Transom - display issues?

Hello -

I'm using "D2 Transom 19" in a wall that's 18' tall. The door is 8', the transom window is 8'. Floor Plan and Section is set to "symbolic". On the first story the door is displayed, as well as on the second story. Of course, it is preferred to have the transom window being displayed rather than the door.

What is the solution to this issue?

Thank you.

Since the symbol view doesn't have a Transom view, you cannot use that object to represent what you are trying to do. I would use a window on top of the door to make that work.

Thanks.

Does resolve it, but if I want to do a door schedule, this door w/transom won't show up as a type. It's not relevant to this project, but that was a question that came from this solution.

I was just curious, how is that affecting your schedule to use a different door?
What are you scheduling in the door schedule that is making it difficult?

The solution you gave was perfect to help resolve the current displaying of a door on the first story, and a window above it.

What I'm showing in the screenshot is an existing condition, so technically these won't be a part of the door/window schedule. I was just thinking - if I still wanted to show the door w/ transom as a door type, it would need to be in the schedule and how can I get the plans to display door on the first, and window (transom) on the second.

Hope that clarifies it. Just wanted to see if there was a way to still display transom on the second, and door on first.

Out of the box tools and objects for door and windows work great, but I could never get the DOOR Type to generate fully automatically because some objects aren't versatile enough to represent the graphic correctly with both plan view and 3d view.

Transom, Sidelites, options and where the sidelite and transom start and stop, custom sidelites make the symbol look like there is no glass, etc...

Ganging windows and doors together get the result you want in 3D and plan view but I haven't figured out how to schedule ganged windows as one window type.

I do have the door type schedule set up but only use it as a reference when creating my 2D door types.
