License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. Elevation marker with arrows to point in 4 directions

Anonymous
Not applicable
We use the section elevation tool for our interior elevations. We use the elevation marker in floor plan so it looks like an interior elevation tag instead of a section marker. Some rooms are very small like toilet rooms and we need 2 arrows instead of just one. Does Archicad have an object we can choose that allows for this. We also want the tag to automatically to put the number in from plotmaker. We would aim the section elevation to the first interior elevation and then put in extra interior elevations that wouldn't show up in plan. THis way the interior elvation on the floor plan would be correct and we would just have one long interior elvation in plotmaker made up of the 2 or 3 or 4 elevations. THe ELEVATION MARKER object looks like it would work but it doesn't in version 9. ANy ideas?

Thanks,
Michele

Thanks Karl -

Also, I have searched many times/ways for what was downloading automatically. Where were these files going?

Tom,
Lovely marker; thank you for sharing with all of us and congratulations on tip of the month!

I particularly like your diagonal view feature.

OK, for some reason, the "diagonal" function was not working correctly for some people.

Try the attached on instead:

I just found a bit of a bug in that last post. Some faced the wrong way!!

This one fixes that bug (hopefully for the last time!)

Thanks for the marker...

Now how do you use it?
How does the auto numbering work?
Do you have to use a seperate marker for each elevation, or do have to stack them on top of each other for it to work?

Looks pretty nifty, just a little confused on how it's supposed to work.

Thanks for the help.

sorry, Djordje, but the GS "Tip of the Month" link pointed here, and it was the home of the original, so I felt it was the proper place for updates/bug fixes.

The auto-numbering read the last X characters of your Section Name. If X is 1 (it's a parameter), and your section name is "Kitchen Elevation A", the text in the point will be "A". Then "Kitchen Elevation B" would have "B" in the point.

There is also a "key" value, which is the only one to show the text inside the central box, for Plotmaker. By default, only the "A" marker has the inner text filled in. (It was a user request, I forget why). Of course, you can turn the whole thing off and override the text.

The marker should be in "Elevation" mode (as opposed to "Section"). You place a section cut line in each direction, then use the Pet Palette to move just the markers on top of each other.

If you have a marker on a 45 degree angle, there is a parameter for "Diagonal." I really wanted to automate that, but the Section Plan data is a little random, based on which direction the section line is drawn (left to right, right to left).

The marker also shows the ID number of the Section, which a lot of people liked to help them keep track of their sections. There is a parameter to turn it off if it bugs you.

I'm sure it's not perfect for everyone, but I hope it helps a little somewhere!
