How to compute hidden objects?

Hi all,

I have 2 questions:

1. Is it possible to compute objs not positioned into my project? I mean: I create a GDL obj that is multi-obj composted, so I have a parameter called "nscrew" numeric; this represent the number of screws present into my prj.
I would like to compute this number without place any screw.
Is it possible?

2. In plan view when an obj is over an other obj, is it possible to have dashed lines where the two objs hide the part of themselves?

Thank you

Hi Marco. I haven't responded because I can't follow what you're asking - language barrier kind of thing.

Could you restate the question? What do you mean by "to compute objs" and what do you mean by "multi-obj composted"?

If I get the sense of your question correctly, the answer is no, only those elements that are placed in the project are part of the database and can be part of any calculations or schedules. You can fake things out by having a special (custom) object read an external file and generate components and descriptors, for example, but that special object would have to be placed in the project...

No. Elements in AC are not aware of one another, nor does the engine permit this kind of masking. Workarounds are various, but all require manual work on the part of the user.
