The ramp tool could help, but I don't know about the twisting part...

Actually you don't need to model. A few years back when facing a similar issue I used the sketchup import tool to get one from google warehouse. It saved an awful lot of heartache.
The heartache for me was when the client pulled it from the project! ;-(

Mac users need to have SketchUp Pro - which can export to 3ds - and bring it in from there.

Until the plugin works for Mac (which may be never), GS should set up a web page where users upload a sketchup object and it gets converted to a nicely cleaned up GDL object. Now wouldn't that be nice! 😉 😉 😉

When we were working in Dubai (I know, dirty word these days) but when the office I was at in south Florida was contracted by a develop in Dubai, this identical wind generated machine was used on various rooftops of our designs.

I have the actual model somewhere in a "GSM" format that you could use directly from the manufacturer. They were most helpful in letting me have the 3DS file, then we converted it to a GSM object so I have the model that is very basic "stretchy" format.

I'll look for it and see if I can't send it to you.

That's terrific Rob, you should upload it to the Object Directory.
