How to purge non-existent library objects?

I have a project where I used the Cadimage cabinets briefly. I ultimately deleted all of the cabinets, and uninstalled the Cadimage add-on, and then deleted the Cabinet library. However, now, whenever I start the program, I get notified of 20 missing Cadimage cabinet objects, even though these were all deleted. (Find and Select doesn't pick them up, either.) Any idea of what's going on and how to get rid of the error message?

Can you attach a screenshot of your error message? The one with objects names missing?

Sorry, I won't be in front of that computer for a couple of days. But I really shouldn't have called it an "error message." Just the standard Library Report on startup noting that the Cadimage objects are missing. I hate having the Report come up, and am pretty careful about clearing up any issues noted there.

We has some Cadimage 'residue' for a while after one user tried it out. I think there was a single node-like dot in the Schedules area of the view map that we deleted. You may have more similar items.
Thanks, Jeff. I'll scour the schedules, etc. Good to know that it is fixable.

Hi Richard. There shouldn't be anything hidden in the project linking back to our libraries. Perhaps there's a surface linking to an image in our library? If you post or PM a snapshot showing the names of the missing parts, I might be able to point you in the right direction. But generally it should work like anything else - remove the objects and the library and that's the end of it. We'd like anyone to be able to try our software with no strings attached.

Thanks, Ralph. The library report just listed as missing objects "Cadimage Cabinet (20)". Nothing more than the twenty instances. I've reinstalled the Cadimage library, and the message has gone away.

Would it be possible for me to have a copy of the project for testing? It would be useful for both of us if I got to the bottom of the problem. I can give you an upload location or email address to send it to.

Hi Richard. Thanks for sending the project through to me. I don't think I'd have been able to work it out otherwise.

The answer is connected with the fact that our Cabinets tool adds a new tool to the toolbox for placing cabinet objects. When you remove the add-on, that tool disappears. However, the 'Find and Select' filter still doesn't see anything placed with the tool as an 'Object'. In fact, it doesn't recognise them as any type!

The solution is to use 'Find and Select' with the Element Type set to All Types and the Name set to contains "Cadimage". Then it finds all 20 objects still placed in the project (if you have all layers visible and unlocked).

Ralph,
Thanks for your detective work! However, this turned up another mystery, at least for me, of how I managed to place about three additional copies of each cabinet on top of each other. I've also had frequent weird anomalies like finding the roof below a Cadimage roof covering missing. I"m not sure why this is happening. I"m certainly not claiming this is due to Cadimage objects, but I don't seem to have this issue with other types of objects. Anyone have any insight into this?
