Jamb width smaller than wall?

here's another request from said architect....
Can the jamb be set back 3/4" from the wall edge?
dunno if I can do that? I thought somewhere in the parameters there was a way to "fix static" the jamb width (not the thickness rather the width) and then be placed "X distance" offset from an edge?
is this possible?
where?

WHY is the "reveal" tab greyed out? not that this solves the issue I'm asking about with the window set back on the frame from the interior but.....just asking why is THIS tab greyed out?

Rob:
Try adjusting the Frame width in "Frame & Sash" settings:

Also, If you change the wall closure to "solid wall", reveal depth
becomes active. Not sure about the other settings.

What is your wall closure setting?
Change it to "Stud wall with siding".

What is "W Fixed USA"? How did it get that name, and what library did it originally come from?

No problems at all with W Fixed 18 - which is the fixed window in the USA library.

Marc,
you DA MAN!....I'm not sure but I had thought I had gone thru that setting where you change the "wall closure" to "stud with siding" but I guess I over looked it.....as though there aren't enough toggles and hidden sub-toggles to mess with in this program...you miss one and yer hosed....but thanks dude! that was it...that was the button that caused the windows to begin reacting in a way where I could force a different window jamb width to gain recesses on the interior of the windows.....again..thank you so much!

I hope you'll be able to get it to work fully with your window, Rob... My testing just now with the W Fixed 18 showed some buggy behavior.

The good thing is that the jamb extensions appear or go away based on the display of interior casing. The bad thing is that there really isn't a jamb at all as in your first illustration. (Graphisoft doesn't seem to understand the distinction between frame and jamb/jamb extension.) Rather, you're changing the dimensions of the window frame itself. Not the way windows are built, at least in the US, but it could be used to fake it... except:

While the frame width can be changed to affect how much wall reveal you have on the interior, I could only change the frame depth for the bottom of the frame... the sides and top remain obscenely thick.

good to know I'm not the only one that thinks these "micro-miniscule-nano" window settings are whacked.

it seems at times that when you select "ALL" windows....some of their parameters change...some don't. I've noticed that window types of varying conditions (i.e. fixed, casement, slider, hopper, etc...) don't ALL have the same settings. Their individual parameters vary greatly.

Don't understand why a "WINDOW" isn't just a "window" object and there has to be so many of them with so many different 'specific' settings to each window type......but then again, I didn't program and don't know how to, so I'm at the mercy of the GS programmers who may or may not have ever worked in the architectural industry.

all in all....it's better than 2D drafting.
