Library Container file not working properly

We want to move our office libraries to container files. We'd like not to accidentally overwrite or delete custom library parts.

How we do this:

> Load the libraries we want to put in the library container file. (Library A, Library B and Library C)

> 'File' > 'Libraries & Objects' > 'Create Container'

> Under 'Local Libraries' we select Library A, B and C

> Press 'Create'

At this point, both the original libraries are loaded, so we get a lot of duplicates.

We remove the original libraries.

All objects that are in the libraries A, B and C go 'missing' in the library manager. The library container file is still loaded.

How is this possible? What even is the use of container files?

We have tried above steps in an exisiting pln and in a clean, new one. No difference.

------------

So we have created a new pln, starting with the library container file which we just created. The lcf and its contained object is working just fine.

A coworker wants to add a new pile symbol. Extract library, add new symbol.gsm , create new container file. Again. Everything. Goes. Missing.

-----------

How are lcf supposed to be used?  We were of the understanding that they are used to prevent unwanted modification or deletion of library objects, but this way they are just eating through our time.
