Yes, you can do this with GDL. The object subtype needs to be set to Section Marker (under the Marker category). It will appear as one of the marker options under Marker in the Section/Elevation Tool dialog box.

I have seen this Marker from "Revit".
Revit has such a Marker for Detail Section (or elevatation) Marker.
I have seen in the showing movie from the revit web-site.
This marker is really cool (I dont buy Revit because of Marker.).
