Missing Textures

I have managed to clear out all of my duplicate items without causing too much trouble. However, I have these two textures (see attachment) that I can't seem to find. The files don't exist on my computer.

I managed to find 3 textures that were called up as missing, and I removed them off the objects/materials that were using them. But I don't find any materials or objects using these textures.

I know SOMETHING is using them or it wouldn't be giving me the error, but I can't find it. Can anyone help with this?

I found an earlier post talking about this same issue and I learned there how to remove one of the missing textures through the attribute manager & the other two removed were dumb luck on my part. These two last ones, however, I'm afraid I wont get as lucky.

Thanks.

The images in question, seem to me, by their names, to be back ground images.
You can check under photo rendering settings to make sure that they are not being used. If they are,
you can simply remove them so you don't get the error message.

Cheers.

Ben, Thats what I thought, but I go through all of the rendering settings I can find and don't find a reference to either of these files. Anywhere else I might check? Or anyone else have an idea?

It must be a surface texture belonging to a material, as opposed to a background, otherwise the Library Loading Report would report a missing Photorendering Background.

And it's not a texture applied to a library part because that would either show, or simply not show without report or any appearance in the Attribute Manager, depending on whether it was saved as a 'non-editable binary 3D data' part, or an Editable GDL script.

Unfortunately you cannot use Find & Select to search for an element by texture, so you are S.O.L. there too.

Are you absolutely sure you have checked Attribute Manager thoroughly (ie. sorting by texture and chacking that column in alphabetical order)?Even if it is a hotlinked module it should show up in Attribute Manager.

It's weird - I have never been stumped by a missing texture. If you start a new project and use the latest settings, then reload your existing libraries, do you still get these missing textures? If so, zip it up and uplad it, so we can take a look - if you like.

Cheers,

I removed all of my libraries for testing purposes.

Attached is an image of my attribute manager overlayed with my missing texture report. You can see that in the manager it lists the textures alphabetically and skips from 'Stucco' to 'The River Rock'. But in the report you see that it goes from 'Stucco' to my two phantom textures and then to 'The River Rock'.

Can anyone explain this?

I get the feeling that when we find the answer it will have been under my nose the whole time and I'll look like an idiot but until then - its driving me nuts not knowing how to get rid of these two 'textures' and I'll take the chance of looking like an idiot just to get rid of them.

Thanks.

Look - I know there is someone out there who has read this post and has an idea. I'm not looking for 'the' answer, just any answer that might be an option.

Please give me any ideas you can think of to get rid of these two missing textures.

Thanks.

Hi sirduncan,
I Guess your missing textures are Background images... look in the rendering setting... some camera is watching for a romantic "sunset" image

Well I searched in every setting I could find, but could not find where it referenced these two files. So - I went the other way. I created two very small images, named them accordingly and placed them in my library.

VIOLA! - No more error message on the library load.

yeah for me eh?
