Dimension snap point on complex walls

Zendrix
Expert

Hi!

Im trying to annotate dimensions on a complex profile wall (2cm plaster/stone/2m plaster), but the snap point does not grab the exact corner of the wall but a point dislocated 2cm from the corner, on the exterior line of the wall. This only happens when i have windows on those walls. It looks like archicad draws the 2cm plaster around the hole of the window but then it does not recognize it as a grabbing point.

I already had the same trouble while modeling and i even had to design the slabs having those points in consideration (instead of the actual finished corner), which gave me some room for mistakes.

What am i missing?

Cheers,

Z

Hi Zendrix,

in the Archicad 27 Aus version you have the dimension settings for wall closure:

also, you may want to check the dimension detail settings if you are not picking up the skins you want.

I don't know if this helps.

That would be more a WindowDoor issue than a Wall issue as the skin wrapping is part of the windows 2D representation.

Hey Allan!

Thanks a lot, the "dimensionable in 2D" box checkmark was what i was looking for! Now i can grab that corner point with the dimension tool!

Cheers,
