Multiple Versions

Hello,
I recently duplicated a library part called Tube 10.gsm
in the hard drive directory and changed it's name to Tube.gsm.
(Please note that this is in AC 10, not AC 12 where names are ignored.)
I then opened the Tube.gsm in Archicad's GDL editing environment
and deleted a few parameters, added some parameters, altered the
2D and 3D scripts and saved. I used Tube.gsm in a project but every
time I open the project Archicad says I have "Multiple Versions" of Tube .
Clearly, they are not the same lib part because of the editing I have done
and this is reflected in the differing GUIDs listed in the library loading report.
See attached which is the loading report I get when I open the project.

What do I have to do to convince Archicad that the two lib parts are not
"Multiple versions" but different lib parts ?

Of course you're right. They were calling the object by name, but the 'outside' object always had the same GUID. Sounds like a good idea to me, so we can avoid all this nonsense.

BTW Frank I couldn't see the GUID in my Element Information. What's the trick?

Hello Link,
I tried finding the GUID in the element information pallet but it did not show.
I tried this in AC 10 and in AC 12 trial version. No show in either version.
Frank is using AC 14 and maybe that version has an improved element
information pallet. Are you using AC 14 ? You don't say in your signature.
Maybe if you are not using AC 14 that could be the explanation.

P.S. Link, I find myself feeling pleased you are back in what I believe
is your home country. This gadding about across the world, as Dwight
described you as "world wide Link", must have been hard. I hope your
present situation is better for you. I still remember the day you told us
that you came back from a business trip to find your employer's doors
locked and the firm out of business. I remember how you turned
disaster into opportunity and created your independent consulting operation.

That screenshot was from AC14. I thought perhaps Frank may be using it inside the Object Editing environment somehow? He hasn't been wrong before so I don't want to doubt him now!

PS. Yes, my ArchiCAD life has been very adventurous and rewarding! My focus has been on my family and BIM in general, hence my absence from AC-Talk. I've always stayed active in alpha/beta testing too, so have never been far away. I am lucky to be back in my hometown working for a great company and on some very diverse and complex projects. Throw in 50 ArchiCAD users and my life is very busy! As for the 'gadding' I actually really miss it. I am sure I will return to it once the financial crisis lessens and my son grows up! And you're one on the only top 12 posters I haven't met yet, so that'll have to happen!

I hope I haven't wasted your time. I was looking for some other problems and have seen beside that the "unique ID" is listed in the element information. But this is obvisiously not the GUID, I fear. Sorry, that you have trusted me.

See screenshot attached, which show the different information source for the IDs. The used object, I wrote for selfGDL I will post too.
