Nanowall system - 5 panel door

Looking to see if anyone out there has made a custom door panel. We are in need of a 5 panel "Nanawall" type door.

requirements are:
1. 5 panel door.
2. in 2d should look like example.
3. in 3d behave and act as a door.
4. should have jambs, sills, trim..etc..

if anyone can help.
I've done a very primitive custom door panel but it has no jambs nor sills nor thresholds and I can only make it "stretchy".

I've been able to modify the 2D view using the "Open Object" dialogue box but other than that....i'm stumped.

thanks.

Here's the way I've done Nana Wall doors...

1. Use any standard door as your DOOR with EMPTY as the door panel type.
2. This will let you add your trims and such and have a carcass for your schedule.
3. Then I created a simple DOOR PANEL that I place in plan..
4. My door panel allows me to switch OFF the 3d, so I end up with two sets of panels... One shown closed that has 3d on and one that shows open(ing) with dashed lines and no 3d...
5. My door also has a "calculator" where you put in the overall opening size and the number of panels (and overlap, for sliding doors). And it calcs the PANEL WIDTH for you...

oh yeah, the stiles and rails are parametric, so you can choose any size you want.

HI,

there is a Kömmerling library in the Depository which contains the same doors: http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/object_depository.php?browse=Depository/08%20Doors-Windows/Windows

Hi Duane,
thanks for your suggested panel GSM object.
I teid it and had a question.
I'm assuming that I'm to only place ONE panel and then copy them over 4 times correct? it's not like the door will make a 5 panel door.

I saw where you can get the "carcass" for the empty opening and that's neat. at least I can have an opening that does indeed have trim and jambs and all those parts I need.

I tried that "Kommerling" thing but it's impossible to figure out what the heck parameter you are adjusting.

Cant understand why there simply isn't an option for a 5 panel of whatever number of panels doors in Archicad.

Yes... use the "calc" to get the size, then copy 4 more in a line... I could also make it distribute within itself, but I wanted flexibility...
For example, I use the same technique with POCKET doors (that you can't get with AC stock pocket doors)... where I show the panels inside the pocket to make sure I have proper clearance... again, these doors can have the 3d disabled and shown as hidden line...

So, it's just easier to use a ONE PANEL object to meet a variety of needs...

PS... I also use it for quickie cabinet doors (make the glass = wood)...

There is a Nanowall type door that can do 3-7 panels in the International library, also an offset pivot door.

Erika,
what's the process for using/extracting the international library?

We have ARchicad 14 in our office but the U.S. version.
Does the U.S. install CD also come with the International Version?

if so, what's the process for extracting that particular library part? I'm in need of that GSM object that acts as a Nanawall object.

Anyway, if anyone has the international library installed, could extract that one GSM object which Erika speaks of??

Would surely help.
