Objects disappear

I've experienced that objects (library parts) suddenly disappear fraom my model. In the floorplan they leave a spot, but when I select this spot, it's impossible to open the settings. The 3d view also show that the object is missing. Are there someone that has an idea about what cause this?
And are there some way to correct it without having to put all the objects back one more time.
I've done that once, and now it seem like I have to do it again with the same objects. All the objects that suddenly disappear, has been downloaded from Archibaseplanet. Objects from ForaForm. Helland and Offect are still there. So it's actually all the objects from Archibaseplanet that has this problem.

This is a library management issue.

They show as dots - missing - because they aren't in the library.

The Archicad library is specified by folder - it doesn't search your entire hard drive willinilli for objects.

Place downloaded objects in a folder added to the library in the Library Manager Dialog.

I recommend that you establish a Folder called "Archicad Library Additions" and place all of your downloads there.

Then add that folder to the Library in the Library Manager.

Then RELOAD the library.

The dots should become objects.

The way you describe is the way I usually organize my objects. I also tried to reload the objects in my Arcibaseplanet-folder using the Library Manager Add-button, but it did not help.
But, I think it's weired that this happens only to the objects downloaded from a certain site.

Now I've pushed the Reload button too. But it doesn't make any difference.

Anne, just double-check that the gdl files still exist in the folder that you're reloading. For some reason, AC seems to think they're not there.

Optionally, try loading one or more objects individually and see if they show up on the plan.

I've done that. The .gsm file exists on the filesystem. I have a copy of the project. And the objects are still in the copy.

I don't know if this is related to your experience, but I've seen this happen a number of times now, particularly opening projects from older versions of ArchiCAD. Initially everything seems fine, i.e. all the objects display correctly. But after saving and re-opening some objects are 'forgotten' - they display as blobs. The original objects are still in the library and the blobs still have the correct name, but ArchiCAD seems to think they are two different things. It's particularly scary that this only becomes apparent after a project has been saved and closed.

I have a fellow student, and she also experience the same problem. But it seem to be related to objects downloaded from Archibaseplanet. I filled out a form on their site today, I hope I get an answer.
I have this problem with projects I have made in AC12 and that I open in AC12. But I've put an awful lot of objects into my project. Maybe it has something to do with it. But it's strange that it's only objects from one source that has this problem, as far as I can see.

Ralph, have you noticed this issue only with v.12 or earlier too?

Most models from archibaseplanet are converted from 3ds. I wonder if this could have something to do with it.

This sounds related to:

Not good at all to hear multiple reports of this behavior, even if only happening to a few. 😞
