Problems Ganging Windows

Anonymous

I am having trouble ganging Windows, specifically the Double Hung windows in AC13. The Windows are input with the Stud Wall Reveal if that matters. Anyways, when the Ganging is selected, the wall trim is relocated (instead of being cut in half like in AC10 & 11) and the window frame gets extended into the window itself. Surely this is not how the part was designed! So how do I correct this?

I don't see this situation clearly enough. I experimented with the Double Hung Window in versions 11, 12 & 13. First of all, I noticed that the 'Stud Wall' option in v11 creates a structure which is called 'Studwall in Siding' later. Then we have the problem of the casings. I don't know what that rectangle between the ganged windows is in v11. Is that needed? In other words: should casing trim offset override casing width in ganging situation or should there be some extra place created for it (i.e. the mystery rectangle in v11)?

I'm really confused about US windows and sorry about that:)

Could you please help me with it?

Thanks,

Please don't apologize, ztaskai! You may be exactly the person I am looking for. Your picture of the AC13 windows shows them ganged correctly. But that is my issue -- if you look at my picture (displayed again), notice the location of the window trim. On the outside, it does not overlap the gap -- it overlaps the windows. The inside trim sits inside the wall and inside the window. I cannot replicate your AC13 picture. What am I doing wrong??

Hi Smiley, this post is pretty old, but I am wondering if you ever figured this out. I have the same problem with casing ganging: the casings are partially covering the window sash.

It seems in AC14 it is easy to gang windows and doors together, but if you want say, 7" mulls between the windows, and you turn on casing ganging, the trim is slid over, partially covering the window sash.

Has anyone figured this out?

Thanks
