It depends on how the part is created. You may be able to stretch it (look for dynamic - colored - hotspots) or you may have to enter the sizes into the dialog. Some parts won't allow you to change the size at all though these are usually single spec items like a particular toilet. This should not be the case with a shower door unless it was made as a custom one-off part.
