Hi Rob,

Have a look through the GDL cookbook available to download from ACE -

Thankyou both, so I wonder how I would start to use GDL to produce the carbon molecule for example ?
Cheers

I presume you mean one like the attached (A Buckyball) or do you mean just a single carbon atom?

Have a look at CYLIND / TUBE and SPHERE and apply a little trig?

Ooh yes this is what I meant but I'm not sure I have the trig to work out the relative position of the nodes. Do you know any sources of the trig info ?

I'm not sure myself, but a bit of googling may help perhaps? I bet it's really simple, while simultaneously being incomprehensible as to how it actually works!

Wikipedia might help also -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_%28element%29
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fullerene
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geodesic_dome
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniform_polyhedron

Good luck!
I expect to see it finished by tomorrow morning! (That gives you 20 mins )

I learnt how to do it - please see result.
Took more than 20 minutes though and didn't figure out how to do it with GDL. Wouldn't mind knowing how though
Thanks to all

Great. But a thing that complex would be great in 3D PDF!!! Can you do one?

Export the 3D model as u3D.

Dwight,
I've tried to attach the file but the original one is 41 mB and the zipped won't apparently attach. So I'm stuck sorry.
