Set ID_of_Main In An Object

I want to set the ID that you see in the Listing and Labeling group using code in the object. I tried:

GLOB_ID = STR(pEqNumber, 1, 0)

where pEqNumber is the number the ID should be set to, but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

This is not possible.
The GLOB_ID parameter can read the value you set in that field of the Settigns Dialog, but it does not work the other way around.
When you set the value of GLOB_ID in the GDL script, it changes only there, but does not have any effect on the value that is set in the Settings Dialog.
