License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Set Object Level of Detail using polycount/mvo

Hello,
I am looking to include an option to set level of detail from the polycount tool. Is this possible?
I am also interested as it might be something we consider including in our custom model view options if possible?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

The poly-count tool is an add-on (unsupported).
I don't know of any way to access information from it via GDL.
And I am not aware of any GDL command to calculate the poly-count.

From the polycount tool, there is a way to control the Level of Detail for the ArchiCAD Library objects so I thought it might be possible. I thought that it might just read specific parameters in the file and the change them according to that. Possibly not.

Try opening a kitchen cabinet or something like that from the library and look for the 3D Detail Level parameter. My guess is that the addon is looking for that. The addon works fine here and our local library is translated, so I do not think it looks for anything beyond some like GSLevelOfDetail or some other clever parameter name.

You can then set up the drop down list by defining values in the parameter script (I assume you are familiar with this, given the detailed question).
