Spotlight in 8.1 intensity

Can anyone tell me how to change the intensity of the spotlight lamp in 8.1? I know a spotlight is supposed to be bright but I want to dim it for an interior use - Directional light to wash a wall. The down light can't be angled like the spotlight can.

Does the Light Intensity slider not work? You can also adjust the color of the lamp to accomodate for some more fine tuning.

I changed the intensity to 5 and it still looks like it's at 100.

Any help would be wonderful because I'm also trying to get cove lighting and the general up light looks like it's at a million instead of 100 intensity.

Is the brightener on?

! The intesity slider has no effect in order
! to have full access to the other parameters !


Try messing around with the distance falloff to adjust the light strength - that decreased the intensity in my test
