Stairs not showing in 3D

First of all, thanks to everyone who will take their own time to read about my problem and help. I am designing a fairly small house for my End Thesis project. I have used on another project for my end thesis the stairs, and have also on this particular file used them successfully.

The problem is, I had to delete "the old" stairs, and redo them... and after redoing, what happens is that they simply refuse to show on 3D View. They remain as the profile the stairs will have, but never get completed as a solid object. They do show on the plans correctly, but on section view they also display as blue lines.

I have tried to look into it before asking, without much luck. I found some people had a similar problem in some posts last year, but the 5021 Update was supposed to fix this, so I guess either I am doing something wrong ( and cannot figure out what ), my file got corrupted ( and I cannot find how to clean it ), or I stumbled into something diferent.

After that, I also used the railing took for a makeshift fence, just so that in section cuts I can be made aware of the solid limits of the lot, while still designing ( I am nowhere close to a finished documentation set yet ).

A very simple example of what I mean, I still have not found how to properly configure the element to be clipped by the slab on the floorplan view.

I know it is a very basic issue... but I looked into the tutorials and manual, and most references show stairs which are not partially occluded.

The stair has settings as to how many treads will be hidden or visible.
You can control the line type (solid, dashed) for each portion and you can also set if the hidden and/or visible section will be seen on the current storey, the storey above, the storey below, etc.

So from the storey above the stair you can set the top treads to be visible (solid), and the lower treads to be hidden (dashed). You can even turn off the visibility of the hidden portion in the storey above so only the visible part will be seen.
You can also adjust the position and angle of the break line.

But possibly an easier solution is to simply add a solid white cover fill to the upper slab.

Hello Barry, thank you so much for your reply.

So, in a short, Archicad doesn't understand the stair object as being under the slab, and so, not visible since the slab is solid, it understands the slab as its outline and if I don't select a fill, it will simply "draw as if transparent"? It does help understand the drawing process.

I did alter the slab as having a background fill in white, and it did solve the issue

The stairs don't know if there is a slab over them or not.
They only have their own display options for visible and hidden parts and whether those visible and hidden parts are visible or not on each storey.
So it is possible with a bit of effort to get the stair to display as you want on each storey.

Slabs by default are transparent in plan.
By activating the cover fill you can then apply a hatched or solid fill that will display in plan.
You may need to use display order to set the slab to display above or below other elements (this does not affect the position in 3D - it is purely a plan display order only).
