Not sure why the 2 icons have been blacked out (attached). my AC18 is currently up to date (build 5100). mind you, i think i started to notice this after upgrading from build 4020 to the current one. this icon black out happens in the door & window settings. haven't found any errors in the object tool or any other tool.

This is due to a missing image file that is being called for by the part. If this is a standard ArchiCAD part and you are using the default ArchiCAD library (rather than one unpacked and altered in any way), then it is an error with the part and should be reported. If it is a custom part, then the problem is the same, but harder to track down.

took your advice. the attached one is part of the generic AC library (Door 18 ). in the General Settings Tab, the icons are OK. but in the next tab the icons are blacked out. from memory, aren't they the exact same image?

I would have to open the part to tell if they are the same or not. It depends entirely on how the part is written.

You do not say, have you extracted the library container or is the part directly from the ArchiCAD library unaltered.

I am not absolutely certain, but this may also be a graphics card driver problem.
You could try to install the latest drivers for your graphics card.
