Last night I did a search on this site to learn how to display window/door markers in elevation. I found information and was able to display a marker in elevation (checking the "label window" box in the window's properties & then selecting the label tool...). However, this morning, I cannot get the labels to appear in elevation. I tried Archicad 9.0 and 8.1, but for the life of me, could not get the labels to appear in elevation. Am I missing something obvious?
Thanks,
Don

Hi Woody,
Thanks for the reply. It looks like the layer that is shown as selected in the label info box is not that layer that archicad choses to place the label on.
Thanks again.

Don Attaching labels can be a little frustrating at times and indeed they do drop off the plan/elevation occationally and need to be reapplied.
Usually thought the problem is the operator and the label has gone onto an ususpecting layer. The layer is set by opening the label tool (prior to applying the ID) selecting the window and the approppriate layer and label settings.
One of my pet grieves it that a setting usually isnt remebered from one session to another and the setup needs to be repeated.
Other than that I love the label tool and hope GS continues to develop it (unlike some other promising tools like internal elevations which needs to be rethought to be usable.)

Hi John,
Thanks for the reply - I did pay attention to the layer selected when I was setting up the label. For some reason, after the label is placed, and I turned on all layers, I found that the label had been placed on an obscure layer... can't figure out why...
So thanks Woody, your suggestion did the trick; I turned on all layers, then had to select the labels and place them on the correct layer. Now, I am working on trying to figure out how to center the label in a window sash...
