Have you tried the 3D text object that comes in the standard Archicad library.

Object Library 13\1. BASIC LIBRARY 13\1.1 Furnishing 13\Decoration 13

Should be in a similar location in older libraries as well.

To wrap around the corner, use two complex profiles, one for each face of the figure, then assign to a short wall or beam.

What if you rotated a copy of the 3D text at the turning point, and then did solid element operations to subtract the overhanging edges?

Both ideas are good (SEO or Complex Profiles). If you use the latter one, but do not want do draw the numbers, then follow these steps:
-Use object Text 3D
-Set Rotation (around x) to zero.
-Set 2d representation/Show view in 2D to on
-Write your number 5
-Explode the object into current view (ctrl+=)
-Paste elements in your complex profile
