Materials (Surfaces in AC17) are not library parts, they are Attributes, so can be transferred to a file via the Attribute Manager (or copying an element with the Material assignment from another file). The Vectorial Hatching that can be assigned to a Material is also an Attribute and is handled the same way. Textures that can also be assigned to a Material are bit mapped image files that are loaded via the Library Manager.
You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.
